Fawn Patricia Ann Tadios, a former health care executive for the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana, was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison embezzlement charges. A federal jury found Tadios, 52, guilty of using more than $11,000 in tribal funds for personal use. Most of the money was spent on visits to her husband, former chairman Raymond “Jake” Parker, who was serving time in federal prison for embezzlement. "Parker was incarcerated at the federal facility in Yankton from December 2011 through November 2012 following his conviction for theft from the Chippewa Cree Tribe using a tribal credit card for personal purchases and cash advances," the U.S. Attorney's Office in Montana said in a press release At least a dozen people from Rocky Boy's have been charged since federal prosecutors began focusing on corruption in Indian Country through an effort known as the Guardians Project. Overall, at least 24 cases have been filed since late last year, putting Montana on top a nationwide list of judicial districts with the most government corruption prosecutions. Get the Story:
