A young member of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe of Wyoming pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for killing her newborn child.

Ardis Sierra Enos, who was 20 years old when she was arrested in April 2014, didn't tell anyone she was pregnant. She eventually admitted giving birth to a boy and suffocating him before placing his body in a ditch near her home on the reservation.

Enos was initially charged with first degree murder. She reached a plea deal for the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter, KTWO Radio reported.

Enos is due to be sentenced on March 25.
