The Senate Indian Affairs Committee holds a hearing tomorrow on S.710, a bill to reauthorize the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act.

NAHASDA became law in 1996 to give tribes greater control over federal housing funds. It expired in September 2013 but Congress has failed to update it.

The hearing takes place in Room 628 of the Senate Dirksen Office Building and will be preceded by a business meeting, which will not be webcast. The witness list follows:
•The Honorable Karen Diver
Chairwoman-Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, Cloquet, MN

•Mr. Gary Cooper
Board Member and Chairman of the Legislative Committee-National American Indian Housing Council, Washington, DC

•Mr. Russell Sossamon
Executive Director-Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Housing Authority, Hugo, OK
