Over 2,000 runners registered for the 32nd annual Shiprock Marathon. The course runs through the Arizona and New Mexico portions of the Navajo Nation. It includes a marathon, a half-marathon, a 10K and a marathon relay for teams. Harold Bennally, a member of the Navajo Nation, won the men's division. He beat the second person by about a minute, according to the results. Caroline Sekaquaptewa, a member of the Hopi Tribe, won the women's division. She finished more than seven minutes ahead of the next runner. The half-marathon featured a fierce competition between two members of the Navajo Nation. Alvin Begay finished ahead of Gavin Sosa by just 17 seconds, according to the results. Get the Story:
