The Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana is being sued by two consumers of its online loan business.

Plain Green Loans is accused of predatory lending practices in the lawsuit filed in federal court in Vermont. The plaintiffs are seeking class action status in hopes of representing other consumers of the business.

The tribe started Plain Green with out-of-state partners. A separate lawsuit accuses those partners of bilking the tribe out of $13 million.

A former executive has said the tribe only receives 4.5 percent of revenues from the business.
