The Native American Community Development Corporation in Montana received a $125,000 loan and grant from the Department of Agriculture.

NACDC, which is based on the Blackfeet Nation, secured the money from the Rural Development Rural Microentrepreneur Assistance Program. It will be used to spur small business in Indian Country through NACDC Financial Services.

"We plan to expand all over Montana, but we’re taking baby steps. And this is our baby step so thank you, thank you," NACDC Executive Director Angie Main said upon receiving the award, Montana Public Radio reported.

The late Elouise Cobell, who was the lead plaintiff in the Indian trust fund lawsuit, founded NACDC.
