Two arrested in Oklahoma after manhunt involving tribal police

Two people are in custody after a 17-hour manhunt involving a high-speed chase and shootout with police officers from two tribes in Oklahoma.

Shots were fired at a Sac and Fox Nation police vehicle at the start of the incident on Sunday night, The Shawnee News-Star reported. Four bullet holes were found in the car.

Shots also were fired at an Absentee Shawnee Tribe police vehicle, the paper said. One bullet hold was found in the car.

Fortunately, no one was injured but the driver and a passenger were able to escape from their vehicle. After a search of the area, authorities located Joshua Ray Hudson, 23, on Monday afternoon.

Hudson is now facing charges of shooting with intent to kill, eluding police and a being a felon in possession of a firearm. A 15-year-old who was in his vehicle also was taken into custody and is facing similar charges.

Hudson has a prior conviction in connection with the sex trafficking of a pregnant 16-year-old girl in 2013. After pleading guilty to a lesser charge he was sentenced to probation, JohnTV.com reported.

Some 25 agencies assisted during the manhunt and pursuit, the News-Star reported.
