An Alaska Native man who lived on the Yakama Nation was stabbed to death at home on the reservation on Sunday.

The attack against Donald Edwards, 42, appeared to be unprovoked. He was at a Father’s Day barbecue when Anthony Lewis, 34, allegedly killed him.

Funeral services for Edwards, who was Tlingit, are being held today. After he is cremated, he will be taken to Alaska, where he was born and raised. He spent his adult life on the Yakama Nation.

Lewis faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree assault. His bail was set at $1 million.
