Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is making a play for the Native vote in Nevada, The National Journal reports. Although she has yet to visit Indian Country this year, Clinton's campaign has held eight Native vote events in the state so far, the Journal reported. Her staff has visited reservations and has met with the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada and Native youth. "People vote here," Elveda Martinez, a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe, told the Journal. "This is probably one of the biggest voting reservations in Nevada." Native Americans represent about 1.6 percent of the population in Nevada, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Get the Story:
