The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska welcomed basketball stars Shoni Schimmel and Jude Schimmel to the reservation last week.

The Schimmel sisters hosted a basketball clinic for youth at the Umonhon Nation Public School in Macy, KTIV reported. Along with their parents, they also showed the critically-acclaimed Off The Rez documentary.

"The Schimmel family allowed our community members to see positive Native American role models who succeed in athletics and in the classroom," Chairman Vernon Miller told KTIV.

The Schimmels are members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation from Oregon. They rose to fame while playing for the championship-winning basketball team at the University of Louisville.

Shoni Schimmel now plays for the Atlanta Dream.
