A member of the Northern Cheyenne of Montana pleaded guilty in connection with a drunken driving incident from 2013.

Selena Little Old Man, 25, admitted she had been drinking when she lost control of the car she was driving. A passenger, identified in court records as T.W.E., suffered a broken femur and had to undergo surgery and physical therapy.

Little Old Man pleaded guilty to one count of assault resulting in bodily injury. She was sentenced to time served -- she had already been imprisoned for 298 days as of Thursday -- and was ordered to undergo substance abuse treatment.

The incident occurred on August 31, 2013, in Lame Deer. Had the case gone to trial, federal prosecutors planned to introduce evidence in which Little Old Man admitted she consumed three 16 oz. beers and three shots of rum prior to driving, according to a court filing.

Little Old Man has 17 prior alcohol-related convictions in tribal court, The Billings Gazette reported.
