The Spokane Tribe is asking Washington Gov. Jay Inslee (D) to halt the expansion of a ski resort.

The expansion of the Mt. Spokane ski area will require the logging of an old-growth forest that has been used by tribal members, the Associated Press reported. Mt. Spokane is public land.

The Lands Council, an environmental group, has filed a lawsuit aimed at stopping the expansion.
