The women's and men's basketball teams at United Tribes Technical College in North Dakota are closing out their seasons on a high note. The Lady Thunderbirds defeated Dakota College-Bottineau in the Region XIII Tournament on February 28, giving the team their first regional championship title, UTTC News reported. The players will host their first-ever District XIII Tournament this Saturday and could head to the nationals for the first time if they defeat Southeast Community College from Nebraska. The men's team didn't win the Region XIII semifinals matchup but the Thunderbirds drew national attention for nearly defeating Dakota College-Bottineau with just two players on the court.
