Lynn Valbuena wins another term as leader of San Manuel Band

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians in California held an election for three seats on the tribal council.

Lynn Valbuena won another term as chairwoman. She has led her tribe since 2012 and previously served as vice chair and secretary/treasurer.

Sabrina Nakhjavanpour, who is Valbuena's daughter, was elected treasurer. This is her first term on the council.

Larry Hernandez won re-election as a member-at-large on the council. This is his fifth term on the tribe's governing body.

Council terms run for two years.
