PINE RIDGE— Three young Lakota men have gone missing from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

On Saturday afternoon (May 7) around 2pm Tevin Tyon, Juan Lamont, and Tyrell Wilson were filmed entering into Tevin’s 2006 grey Buick Lacrosse just outside Lamont’s residence in the Northridge neighborhood of Pine Ridge. Since then there has been no word from any of them.

A source close to the family indicated that the three had planned on traveling in to the rural country side of the reservation to drink alcohol and to just “get away” as all three had the weekend off from work.

Concern over the safety of the men began to rise on Monday as family members who were accustomed to hearing from them began to reach out to social media for help locating them.

Since then private citizens from across the reservation have formed their own search parties and have canvassed many of the countless unpaved backroads and fire trails strewn across America’s third largest reservation in the hopes of finding them.

As of Wednesday morning community members had yet to hear back from the Bureau of Indian Affairs which is being pressured to release funds to the local fire department to aid in the search.
