Meskwaki Nation offers $50K reward for woman missing since January 2015

The Meskwaki Nation is offering a $50,000 reward for information about Rita Janelle Papakee, a tribal citizen who has been missing for four years.

Papakee was last seen at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel in Tama, Iowa. She was 41 years old at the time of her disappearance on January 16, 2015.

“Native American women are victims of violence far greater than any population in the country,” Chairman Anthony Waseskuk said in a press release on Wednesday. “And they are more likely to be assaulted by people who are not Native American.”

Papakee, a mother of four, stands 5’4” tall and has brown hair and brown eyes. She weighed between 145 and 170 pounds when she disappeared.
