1. POLICY:
TODAY – FISCAL RELIEF FUND COMPLIANCE TRIBAL INFORMATION SESSION
The U.S. Department of the Treasury (Treasury) recently released Compliance and Reporting Guidance for all eligible governments on reporting and compliance for Fiscal Recovery Funds received from the American Rescue Plan Act.
Treasury will be hosting a tribal information session on this guidance TODAY Monday, June 28, 2021 from 3:00-4:00 EDT. Registration is required.
Treasury has received feedback on the guidance, and they welcome more inquiries at this session. Following the session Treasury intends to issue an update based on tribal inquiries on the reporting Guidance.
Each tribal government must submit an Interim Report by August 31, 2021 covering the period from March 3 – June 30 2021 and include a summary of spending by expenditure category. Additionally, each tribal government must submit a quarterly Project and Expenditure Report beginning on October 31, 2021.

NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM
Are you interested in being your own boss and making your own money? Do you have a product or service idea you’d like to turn into a business?
Native Nations Institute’s Native American Youth Entrepreneurship Program will help high schoolers build entrepreneurial skills and teach you how to plan out your own business idea. With the guidance of highly qualified instructors, you will learn the basics of what is needed to jump-start your business idea.
Join virtually via Zoom on July 12-16, 2021. The student registration deadline is Wednesday, July 7th.

4. FOR COMMUNITIES:
NATIVE HAWAIIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER LANGUAGE AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Administration for Children and Families, Administration for Native Americans (ANA) announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2021 funds made available from the ARP for Native languages. These funds will be used to make emergency awards to eligible recipients to ensure the survival and continuing vitality of Native American languages during and after the public health emergency with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The deadline to apply is July 26th.
For emergency funds to be awarded to Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders (NHPIs), a portion of the emergency funds will be equally split among pre-selected public-serving organizations that support Native languages in Hawaii, American Samoa, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam (HI, AS, MP, GU).
