The Menu: Indian tacos, trick-or-treats, and Itality
Trick-or-treating and costume parties are back on this year after pandemic fits and starts. That means lots of candy and chocolate.
Friday on Native America Calling, in our regular feature The Menu, our resident foodie Andi Murphy takes a look at the Indigenous origins of chocolate, checks out a new plant-based Native restaurant in New Mexico and chats with the winner of this year’s National Indian Taco Championship.
Owner of Che'il Mayan Chocolate Factory awaits Prince William. The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge visit Che'il Maya Chocolate Farm in Maya Center Village. Following Friday's protest by villagers in Indian Creek, the initially scheduled tour at Akte'il Ha Cacao Farm was canceled. An alternate location was selected for the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge to visit. This morning at Maya Center Village in Stann Creek, the royals will tour the Saqui family's cacao farm. The Che'il Mayan Products showcases traditional chocolate making and traditional Mayan cooking. News Five's Marion Ali spoke with the factory owner, Julio Saqui, as he awaited the Prince. #dukeandduchessofcambridge #princewilliam #belize #caribbeantour #queenjubilee #queenjubilee2022
