July 31, 2003Town shows support for Narragansett TribeThe Narragansett Tribe on Wednesday saw support from the town of West Warwick, where residents and local officials want a casino to be located. Tribal leaders attended a unity breakfast arranged by the former mayor. According to The Providence Journal, a "who's-who" of politicians turned out for the event -- except Gov. Donald Carcieri because it wasn't something he was interested in. The tribe held a unity rally last week and is planning a unity walk to the Statehouse.
