During an Operation Lady Justice listening session on June 2, 2020, Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs Tara Sweeney was repeatedly asked whether the Trump administration’s pro-pipeline policies contribute to the crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

Sweeney didn’t respond to the questions posed by Native women, and instead offered remarks about the unrest sweeping the nation.
