Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center Implements Crisis Standards of Care

Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center (ZCCHC) is implementing crisis standards of care due to high patient volume and staffing shortages. The nation-wide nursing shortage and the COVID-19 related healthcare crisis has resulted in full hospitals in the Southwest. This has also made patient transfers to other facilities extremely difficult. As a result, the existing resources at ZCCHC are under
strain.

All services at ZCCHC will continue operations; however, there may be some changes. Outpatient clinics may be conducted via telephone instead of in person. Some visits may need to be rescheduled. Dental, Optometry, PT, and Podiatry will continue seeing patients. If your appointment is changed to a phone visit, we will contact you at least a day prior to your appointment to inform you of this change. If you do not hear from us, your appointment will be in person.

The Emergency Department and Urgent Care will continue to provide services 24 hours a day. However, patients may continue to experience longer wait times. ZCCHC is committed to providing excellent healthcare despite the current limitations. We will provide updates as available.

The Healthcare system in the United States is exceedingly strained. Please continue to do your part to keep yourself and others safe: get a COVID vaccine and flu vaccine, get your COVID booster when eligible, use masks when indoors and social distance when around others

Thank you.
