House set to vote on bill to restrict Internet gaming

The House is set to vote today on a measure that would restrict Internet gaming.

The bill is a merged version of measures that were introduced by Rep. Robert W. Goodlatte (R-Virginia) and Rep. Jim Leach (R-Iowa). It seeks to crack down on the $12 billion online gaming industry.

The measure carves out exceptions for state- and tribal-sponsored forms of gaming. More information can be found at http://www.house.gov/goodlatte/internetgambling109.htm.
