Another Ohio city is telling the Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma to look for a casino elsewhere.
The Canal Fulton City Council voted to send a letter to the tribe, saying the city is no longer interested in pursuing a casino. Mayor John Grogan cited a survey that showed 55 percent opposed negotiating with the tribe.
Grogan also apologized to an anti-casino activist. He said he takes responsibility for all the "negative things" that the casino issue brought to the surface.
The tribe filed a land claim in Ohio and says it will settle for gaming rights.
