Rhode Island includes Narragansett Tribe for study on gaming

The Rhode Island Lottery has put out a "request for information" to study gaming options in the state, The Providence Journal reports.

The study will examine whether it is feasible for the Narragansett Tribe to purchase Twin River Casino, a slot machine facility. The tribe has floated the idea as one way to get into the gaming industry.

The study also will take a look at the impact of potential tribal casinos in Massachusetts and New York, where two tribes recently gained federal recognition.
