The Coquille Tribe is encouraging voters to reject a non-Indian casino even though the backers of the project have suspended their campaign.

The tribe, along with others in Oregon, opposes The Grange Casino. The backers ended their effort after polls failed to show enough support for Measures 82 and 83.

"The Coquille tribe is pleased to see that Oregon's tribes have earned the trust of the voters in regard to how the tribes have conducted gaming in the state of Oregon," a spokesperson told KCBY-TV.

The tribe is planning to open a second facility that will offer Class II gaming.
