The Jena Band of Choctaw Indians in Louisiana is on track to open its first gaming facility in January 2013.

The Jena Choctaw Pines Casino will feature Class II games only. Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) won't discuss a Class III gaming compact, Chief B. Cheryl Smith said when the tribe broke ground in May.

"It's finally going to be a reality after many years," Smith told The Alexandria Town Talk . "This has been our goal for about 20 years. We've had a lot of devoted leaders working on it. I'm as excited as I can be that it's finally coming true."

The 46,000 square-foot casino includes 700 machines, a poker room, a buffet and a sports bar.
