The Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington is considering a major expansion of its casino.

The tribe plans to expand the size of the Snoqualmie Casino and add a 340-room hotel, a conference center, a theater and two parking structures. The plans are still in the preliminary stage but construction could start as early as next summer

"Responsibly expanding the casino resort will allow the tribe to further invest in the Snoqualmie Valley communities, its citizens and the protection of its scared places," the tribe said in a statement to The Seattle Times.

The hotel would rise 20 stories, prompting concerns from local officials and residents.
