The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska will open its temporary casino on January 12, 2013, KMEG-TV reports.

The BlackBird Bend Casino replaces the old CasinOmaha, which shut down in June 2011 due to flooding along the Missouri River. "We've taken the old casino floor and gutted it totally, and built this temporary casino right here where the restaurant used to be," CEO Bill Walsh told KMEG.

The tribe is hiring 64 people to work at the casino, Walsh said. A permanent facility is expected to open in 2014.
