California is a long way from Atlantic City but that isn't stopping some tribes from expressing opposition to New Jersey's new Internet gambling law.
The California Tribal Business Alliance, which represents three tribes with casinos, says the law poses a threat to the entire gaming industry.
The law allows New Jersey to negotiate with other states to allow residents in both jurisdictions to gamble on the Internet.
"What we are concerned about is the standard of regulation is somewhat weakened,” Leslie Lohse, the vice chair of CTBA, told The Atlantic City Press. “If there is reciprocity with the state down the road, which standard will prevail?”
