The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is reportedly close to a host agreement for a casino western Massachusetts.

The tribe must reach an agreement with the town of Palmer as part of the process for bidding on a commercial casino license. The deal could be signed as early as today.

In bidding for eastern Massachusetts, the tribe is up against two gaming giants, including Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
