The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians in California debuted a bigger gaming floor as part of an expansion project that includes a new hotel tower.

The tribe added another 16,500 square-feet of gaming space to the Viejas Casino. There's now room for 1,000 additional slot machines.

“This marks the first step in our most ambitious plan of growth to date,” Chairman Robert Welch said in a press release. “The ongoing development of Viejas continues to resonate in many positive ways for the San Diego area, both economically and in establishing a strong foundation for the future of our culture.”

An even bigger reveal lies ahead. On October 30, the tribe will open a hotel tower with another 128 rooms.
