Seminole Tribe still shares gaming revenue despite lack of compact

The tribe is on track to share $306 million this year, a spokesperson told FloridaPolitics.com. But a source told the website that the payments could end unless the state agrees to a new Class III gaming compact.

The tribe did negotiate a new deal but state lawmakers refused to ratify it. That's what led to a lawsuit in which a federal judge said the tribe can continue to offer Class III games without sharing revenues because the state violated a provision regarding exclusivity.

Tribal officials met with Gov. Rick Scott (R) on Tuesday but both sides were mum on a potential agreement, FloridaPolitics.com reported.

Since 2010, the tribe has shared $1.7 billion with the state.
