The Mohegan Tribe invites patrons to go "Beyond" with its online gaming offerings, currently, being offered for free.

Mohegan Tribe enters agreement with sports betting service provider

The Mohegan Tribe entered into an agreement with Kambi Group plc to serve as its sports betting partner.

Sports betting is not yet legal in Connecticut, where tribe's Mohegan Sun is located. But officials say they are ready to offer such wagers, both online and in person, should state lawmakers take action on a bill the tribe supports.

"Mohegan Sun's goal is to utilize our brand and strong presence in the state and after a long vetting process, we found that Kambi was best positioned to complement that, as they're the most sophisticated and comprehensive sportsbook out there," Aviram Alroy, the vice president of Interactive Gaming for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, said in a press release.

For now, patrons can check out Kambi's gaming products at Mohegan Sun Beyond. Free play is offered through a website and through smartphone apps.

A landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision opened the door for tribes and states to offer sports betting. At this point, only a few tribes are currently offering such wagers on their lands.

Kambi Group is based in Malta and its products have been used for sportsbooks in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
