Indian police officer killed on duty remembered


An Indian police officer who was killed on duty was honored in Blaine County, Montana, on Saturday.

Joshua Rutherford, 28, a member of the Fort Belknap Assinniboine Tribe, was a sheriff's deputy for the county. He was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call on May 29, 2003.

Rutherford's name was added the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C., on May 13.
