Makah Nation tells owner of troubled ferry to leave

The Makah Nation of Washington has asked the owner of a ferry with a troubled past to leave tribal waters.

Chairman Ben Johnson said the owner of Kalakala promised to create jobs for tribal members. But that hasn't happened, Johnson said.

Instead, the ship caused $4,000 worth of damage to the tribe's pier on Neah Bay. Owner Steve Rodrigues says he needs $500,000 to move the ferry and for other costs.
