Democrats block three more judicial nominees

Senate Democrats successfully blocked three more of President Bush's judicial nominees on Thursday.

The nominees were Henry W. Saad, Richard A. Griffin and David W. McKeague, all for the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. The court includes the state of Michigan, home to 12 federally recognized tribes.

Republicans needed 60 votes in order to end the Democratic filibuster but fell short. The same thing happened on Tuesday, when former Interior Solicitor William G. Myers was blocked to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
