Federal artifact amnesty program coming to end

A federal law enforcement program promising amnesty to anyone who turns over tribal artifacts is ending today.

Authorities in Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado said they recovered several significant artifacts belonging to tribes. People in all four states turned over items, authorities said.

Several tribes, including the Hopi and San Carlos Apache, supported the program.
