One of the Snoqualmie Tribe's most sacred sites will be protected under a deal involving a diverse group of interest in Washington state.

The tribe believes the 270-foot Snoqualmie Falls connects heaven and earth. The waterfall is one of the state's top tourist destinations.

Under the deal, the area around the falls will remain free from development. A total of 150 acres that was previously slated for housing and an office building will remain forest.
