Report cites crisis facing First Nations languages


Native languages in the Yukon Territory of Canada are in danger of dying out, according to a new report from the Aboriginal Language Services.

At least two First Nations languages, Han and Tagish, are on the verge of extinction, the report said. Only a few speakers remain of the languages.

The Yukon is home to at least 10 Native languages. The report few people, particular young Natives, are learning their languages.
