Nisga'a Nation protests sale of old mining town

The Nisga'a Nation of British Columbia says the sale of an old mining town can't go forward unless it is involved with negotiations.

The community of Kitsault put the town up for sale for $7 million (Canadian). But Nisga'a Lisims president Joseph Gosnell says the town is within Nisga'a territory.

Under a treaty with the B.C. government, the Nisga'a Nation has hunting, fishing and other rights on traditional lands. Gosnell says he is open to development in Kitsault so long as the Nation is involved.
