Three Oklahoma tribes big donors to campaigns

Three of the largest Oklahoma tribes have made big donations to two questions on the November 2 ballot, The Daily Oklahoman reports.

The Chickasaw Nation, the Cherokee Nation and the Choctaw Nation poured more than $1.5 million into State Question 712 to legalize certain electronic casino machines. Each tribe gave $500,000 to Oklahomans for Education and Jobs.

Other contributors to the effort include Multimedia Games, which gave $300,000 in October, and Sodak Gaming, which gave $100,000 in October. A total of $2.5 million was raised.

The three tribes also gave money to support State Question 705 and State Question 706, two pro-lottery initiatives. The Chickasaw Nation gave $251,000 while the Cherokee Nation and Choctaw Nation each gave $150,000.
