Descendants of prisoners of war plan reunion

The second reunion of the descendants of six dozen Cheyenne, Arapaho, Kiowa, Comanche and Caddo warriors who were imprisoned by the U.S. Army will be held in May 2005.

John L. Sipes Jr. is planning the reunion. He is a Cheyenne man whose grandparents were rounded up in Oklahoma and shipped to Florida in 1875. The prisoners were kept at Fort Marion for three years.

Sipes expects at least 500 people to attend. The first reunion was held this past spring.
