Metis Nation loses more than $2M in funding

The Metis Nation of Saskatchewan has lost more than $2 million (Canadian) in federal and provincial funding as the result of a disputed election.

The province suspended $410,000 and won't recognize the new chief. The Canadian government followed suit and has cut off $1.2 million for a hunting rights deal and nearly $650,000 in other federal funds.

An audit found the election of Dwayne Roth as president was tainted with irregularities. Roth said he won't recognize the results of the audit.
