Navajo Nation police recruits can't pass fitness test

All nine applicants for a job on the Navajo Nation police force failed the entry-level physical fitness test on Wednesday, The Farmington Daily Times reported.

The tribe is short of police officers and wants to hire more people. But applicants have to be able to pass the entry-level physical fitness test, a psychological test and a criminal background investigation.

Seven of the nine hopefuls could not complete the test, which consists of a sit and reach flexibility test, pushups, situps and running. One was disqualified for high blood pressure and another was pregnant.
