Police chief takes over after violence at First Nation

A new police chief for Kanesatake Mohawk First Nation in Quebec says he is concerned about possible violence on the reserve.

David Thompson replaces the old police chief, who was seen as soft on crime. He is a tribal member.

Chief James Gabriel is also worried about violence. After he promised to curb down on illegal tobacco sales and called in a police force from other First Nations, his home was burned and he was forced to flee.
