Navajo vice president explains daughter's accident

Navajo Nation Vice President Frank Dayish Jr. offered to surrender the keys to his official tribal vehicle as he gave an explanation for his daughter's accident in the car.

Fenessa S. Dayish, 22, ran into bad weather trying when she went to pick up her mother, Dayish said. Fenessa was not hurt but she was cited for not having a valid state driver's license and for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The vehicle did not suffer major damage.

The Navajo Nation's Motor Vehicle Review Board will review the April 2 incident. The board can revoke Dayish's right to operate the tribal vehicle, according to The Gallup Independent.
