All Native high school on track to open next year

First Nations leaders in British Columbia plan to open an all Native high school by September 2005.

The school will place an emphasis on Native culture in hopes of improving graduation rates of Native students. A similar school, the Amiskwaciy Academy, exists in Alberta.

The B.C. proposal was given approval by school trustees in Prince George. The B.C. government now has to approve it.
