Apology offered for school's handling of fight

A board member for a high school in Nevada offered an apology for the handling of a fight between an Indian student and a Hispanic student.

Carson City School Board trustee James Hukari said Indian students weren't made to feel welcome after the September 3 fight. Indian students who weren't involved in the fight were pulled aside and questioned about it.

A task force was appointed to address issues raised by the school's handling of the incident. A report issued on Tuesday made several recommendations, including the creation of a diversity committee and sensitivity training.
