Editorial: Campbell did right thing on marriage vote


"Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell felt the squeeze from constituents and powerful Republican leaders this week. But in the end, he spoke his conscience, and voted it, too.

Campbell was one of six Republicans who bucked Wayne Allard and the party line to help block a constitutional amendment barring same-sex marriages.

Those votes were necessary to protect the integrity of the U.S. Constitution."
