Top Veterans Affairs official visits Navajo Nation

A top Veterans Affairs official promised to help the Navajo Nation build a veteran's clinic and cemetery during a visit to the reservation on Tuesday.

Gordon Mansfield, the deputy secretary for Veterans Affairs, said Navajo veterans shouldn't have to travel far just to receive medical care. The nearest clinics and hospitals are hundreds of miles away off the reservation.

Mansfield was accompanied by Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Arizona).
